Use the calculator for totals. Keep names, contact details, and care notes on your own copy.
2. Confirm minimum visits and fees
If we need a shorter visit, how many hours will you bill? Is there also a weekly minimum?
Which fees are one-time, weekly, per visit, or refundable? Ask about travel, holidays, overtime, and cancellations.
What would two identical weeks cost, including setup? What changes after the first two weeks?
Can you put the schedule, services, fees, and cancellation terms in writing?
Compare one consistent requested schedule. Lower calculated cost does not establish quality or suitability. Confirm clinical-task requirements with the care team.
3. A short call or email script
“We are comparing help at home for the first two weeks after a discharge. Can you explain which tasks your staff can provide, your quoted rate and minimum visit, the earliest start you can actually confirm, and what happens if a caregiver is unavailable? Please send the included services, extra fees, cancellation terms, and supervisor contact process in writing. Which questions should we take back to the discharge team?”
